Mission:

Parents empowering parents to advocate for their children on their journey to literacy.

About us

We created Parents of Wyoming Readers (PoWR) in response to challenges we experienced in obtaining timely and appropriate reading services in schools across Wyoming. PoWR is a committed group of Wyoming parent volunteers dedicated to providing support, resources, and education to other parents who are advocating for their child’s right to learn how to read. We are committed to promoting educational equity.

We want to unite parents from across Wyoming to improve reading instruction. We must empower our teachers with the evidence-based professional development required to be an effective teacher of reading.

Everyone deserves the quiet confidence of knowing how to read; not the anxiety, frustration, and failure that so many of our children are living with.
